Roger Allen Jones passed away September 25, in Memphis, TN. He was born January 3, 1950 in Batesville. Roger attended Little Rock Public Schools, graduating from Joe T. Robinson High, and he obtained his Masterâ€™s in History from University of Arkansas Little Rock.
Rebecca Sue Schroeder, 58, of Bauxite, passed away Sunday, October 2.Â She was born July 14, 1953 in Hot Springs, Arkansas.Â Mrs. Schroeder was an administrative assistant and a member of Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church.Â She was preceded in death by her father, William Henry Kennedy.
She is survived by two sons, Shane Schroeder and wife, Dana and Ryan Schroeder and wife, Susan all of Bauxite; daughter, Melissa Schroeder of Victoria, Texas; mother, Dora Kennedy of Bauxite; two sisters, Virginia Candy of Haskell and Paula Croy of Bauxite and nine grandchildren.
Daniel Jay Henthorne, 32, of Benton, passed away Monday, October 3.Â He was born June 14, 1979 in Little Rock.Â Daniel was a server administrator for the Bryant School District and a member of Sharon Missionary Baptist Church.Â He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Carl and Edna Henthorne and Vera Rowan.
The Benton Lady Panthers were swept by Lake Hamilton in three games Tuesday night (16-25, 23-25, 23-25.)
In the first game, Emily Morgan had four kills, Alex Williams had a kill and Erin Jackson had a kill. Hayley Ferguson had an ace.
In the second game, the Benton Lady Panthers had 14 kills. Williams had two, Morgan had four, Allison Reynolds had two and Ferguson had three. Kristen Ryan had two kills and Jackson had one.
Williams had an ace in game two. Reynolds, Morgan and Williams all had blocks.
Mary Lou Sharp, 96, passed away at Saline Memorial Hospice in Bryant on Saturday, October 1. She was born on May 9, 1915 in Erath County, Texas. She was a housewife and a Methodist.
She is survived by her daughter, Billie Dial and her husband, Gene, son, Marty Sharp and his wife, Becky, granddaughter, Gina Foree and husband Donald, grandson, Matt Sharp and wife Jennifer, great-granddaughter, Austyn Sharp and Brother â€“in-law, Gerald Perry.
Private Graveside services were held at the Little Rock Veteran Cemetery.
Anna Kate McDaniel Shoemaker, 87, died Sept. 29. She was a retired employee of Reynolds Metals Co. and a member of First Baptist Church of Bryant. She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Alma McDaniel; and her husband, H. Holden Shoemaker.
The Bryant Lady Hornets volleyball team swept the Cabot Lady Panthers 3-0 (25-23, 25-16, 25-17) in 7A Central conference action on Tuesday night in Cabot. The Lady Hornets won their fifth consecutive conference match and improved to 9-3 overall with an 8-2 record in conference, good for second place behind Conway.
â€śWeâ€™ve got another win under us,â€ť Bryant Coach Beth Solomon said. â€śThe girls played well tonight, but not as well as we could have.
â€śI think they were confident they would win tonight so they didnâ€™t come out and play as hard as they should have.â€ť
