November 17th
The Bauxite Lady Miners resume play in the Arkansas Girls Alumni Classic at Little Rock Hall High School tonight. The Lady Miners will play the Little Rock Parkview Lady Patriots in the second round at approximately 7 p.m. tonight.
Bauxite (2-0) defeated the Lonoke Lady Jackrabbits 60-41 in the first round of the classic on Monday, while Parkview (1-0) beat Cabot 64-60.
Lady Minersâ senior forward Alaina Crouse leads the team in scoring for the first two games with a 17.0 point-per-game average and is 9 of 12 (75 percent) from the 3-point line.
November 15th
Three Bryant Lady Hornet softball players all signed letters of intent to play at their respective colleges late Thursday morning in front of about 150 people in Love Auditorium on the Bryant High School campus.
The three players, Peyton Jenkins, Kayla Sory and Jessie âThe Beastâ Taylor, could have had their own separate, special days to sign their letters, but the old friends wouldnât think of it.

Gabriel Eiathen Winters, infant son of Joseph Blake and Casondra Renee (DeLoach) Winters, died on Friday, Nov.11.
He is also survived by a brother, Noah; his grandparents, Gene Winters, Cheryl Winters, and Georgia DeLoach, all of Benton, and Mark DeLoach and Teresa DeLoach of Georgia; and many aunts, uncles and cousins.
Funeral service is scheduled for 4 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 16, at Peaceful Haven Funeral Home with the Rev. Vance Nutt officiating.
Hubert Ray Vanderford, 72, of Benton died Sunday, Nov. 13. He was born March 5, 1939 in Bigelow.
Hubert was a retired computer programmer for the city of Little Rock, a Marine Corps veteran, and a Baptist.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Hubert and Creola Vanderford; and a sister.
He is survived by his son, Randy Vanderford of McRae; two sisters, Maida Edwards of Little Rock and Dora Collier of Oklahoma; and two grandchildren.
Edwin Ray Paulson, 48, of Alexander died Saturday, Nov. 12. He was born Feb. 22, 1963, in Pampa, Texas.
Edwin had several businesses in Saline County and drove an 18-wheeler for 22 years. He enjoyed playing with his nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Bonnie Pauline and Ramond Brewer; his father, Fred Henson Paulson; two sisters, Pamela Smith of Fort Smith and Edith Lynn Pruitt of Borger, Texas; and a nephew Stephen Miller, Alexander.
William Tom "Bill" Bundy, 90, passed away Nov. 11, in Montgomery Texas. He was born April 22, 1921 in Hope.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Goldie and Sid Bundy of Benton; and a brother, Charles Bundy of Willisville.
After graduation from Hope High School, he attended Arkansas State Teachers College on a football scholarship and received a degree from Henderson State University. He was a self-employed oil and gas distributor.
His interests centered around his church and family.
J D Caldwell, 91, passed away Friday, Nov. 11, at Saline Memorial Hospice House in Bryant. He was born Nov. 3, 1920, in Lonsdale to the late Walter and Dora Caldwell. He was also preceded in death by two brothers, Fletcher and Toy Caldwell; one sister, Harriet Harris; and one grandson, Roy Dee Pruitt.
Charles Clifton Pritchard, 84, went to his heavenly home on Thursday, Nov. 10, of natural causes at England Manor Nursing Home in England.
He was born June 14, 1927 to Claud Marion and Alice (Fortune) Pritchard in Little Rock. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Ellen (Hartley) Pritchard, one sister, Ruth (Curtis) DuVall, one brother Horace (Doris) Pritchard and one granddaughter, Jennifer Janette Jones.Â
Rick Lee Butzlaff, 59, of Hot Springs and Benton, died Tuesday, Nov. 8, in Hot Springs. Born Feb, 19,1952 in Madison, Wis., he was of the Lutheran faith.

He is survived by his wife of 35 years, Tonna Butzlaff of Hot Springs and Benton; a son, Ryan Butzlaff of Lowell; his parents, Harry and Shirley Butzlaff of Bryant; three sisters, Sandra Phillips of Arlington, Texas, Nancy Blaylock of Missouri City, Texas, and Shari Butzlaff of Little Rock; three brothers, Robert Butzlaff of Arlington, Texas, William Butzlaff of Russellville and Jim Butzlaff of Bryant.

A memorial service for Randall Craig Anderson, 53, of Judsonia will be held at 1 p.m. Monday, Nov. 14, at Dial and Dudley Funeral Home in Bryant.
Anderson was born Jan. 23, 1958, to the late Alfred Junior Anderson and Mary Eleanor Knisley Meisenheimer in Batesville. He was a Razorback fan and a NASCAR fan and had a love for all sports.
He is survived by three children, Jessica Anderson, Brittany Mears and husband Matt, and Dillon Toki; two grandchildren, Gabriel Theis and Jackson Mears; a brother, Richard Anderson and wife Sharon; and many aunts, uncles and cousins.
