Mary F. Smith, 70, of Haskell, passed away Sunday, Nov. 6.Â She was born Aug. 27, 1941, in Humphrey, to the late P.A. and Jessie Capps.
Mrs. Smith was a homemaker and of the Baptist faith.Â She was preceded in death by her parents and husband, Eullie E. â€śShortyâ€ť Smith.Â
James Parvin Teague, 71, of Bismarck passed away on Nov.12, with his family by his side.Â James was born on March 28, 1940 in Hot Springs to the late Parvin and Marie Teague.Â He enjoyed hunting, fishing and tinkering on motors.Â His most treasured times was time spent with his family.
Bryant senior baseball player Jordan Taylor signed a letter of intent to play for the University of Central Arkansas on Friday at noon in front of the Bryant gym. Friends, family and teammates witnessed the Hornetsâ€™ main pitcher sign.
â€śItâ€™s been fun,â€ť Jordan Taylor said. â€śItâ€™s been a lot of fun. Been through a lot with my brothers right here,â€ť referring to his teammates.
The Bauxite Lady Miners will kick off the Arkansas Alumni Girls Basketball Classic tournament held at Little Rock Hall High School. The Lady Miners will play the Lonoke Lady Jackrabbits in the opening game of the tournament at 4 p.m.
The Lady Miners will get to test their mettle against some of the top teams in the state last season. The tournament features six state tournament teams, including one quarterfinals team, three semifinal teams and a finals team.
