Carlene Gray

Carlene Gray of Benton passed away at her daughter’s home in Pine Bluff on Dec. 4.  She was a member of Holland Chapel Missionary Baptist Church.
Mrs. Gray was preceded in death by her father, Elijah Fitzhugh; her mother, Allie Mae Fitzhugh; her brothers, Calvin and Gary Fitzhugh; and her sisters, Willie Mae Rowland, Linda Chism and Mary Ann Saxton.
She is survived by her husband of 60 years, Robert G. Gray of Benton; a daughter, Diana Gray Millenbaugh and husband Bud of Pine Bluff; her granddaughter, Alexis Gray Millenbaugh of Dallas; and many nieces and nephews.

Courtney Brice Pope

Courtney Brice Pope, 77, passed away Sunday, Dec. 4, in Shongaloo, La. She was born March 2, 1934 to Maben Rogers and Mertice Laverne Thornton Brice in Shreveport.
She had been a resident of Cotton Valley, La., since 1961, a faithful and active member of First Baptist Church and was a retired manager of Recycling Employees Federal Credit Union, Cotton Valley, for numerous years. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and was loved by many friends.
Mrs. Pope was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Marlon Pope.

Kara Suzanne Lafleur

Kara Suzanne Lafleur, our beloved daughter, mother, sister and friend, age 50, of Bryant went to be with her Lord on Saturday, Dec. 3, 2011, with her family by her side.
Kara was born Jan. 19, 1961, to Al and Judy Parker in Hot Springs.
She was a very valued employee of The Arkansas Heart Hospital, where she served as the business office director.
Kara had a very gentle and loving spirit. Her most treasured times were spent with her family.
She was a member of Park Place Baptist Church.

Sallie Mae (Pat) Harkey Loyd

Sallie Mae (Pat) Harkey Loyd went to be with Jesus on Nov. 30.
She was born March 16, 1933, in Smackover to the late William and Eunice Harkey.  She was an active member of Indian Springs Baptist Church in Bryant. 
Sallie was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers; and one sister. 

Bryant falls to Fairview 45-42

Up one point with a minute remaining, the Bryant Hornets fell 45-42 to the Camden Fairview Cardinals at the Russellville Tournament on Thursday.

“When we were up one with a minute to go, I felt pretty good with the decisions they were making, but it just didn’t work,” Bryant Coach Mike Abrahamson said. “Our guards ended up making bad decisions.”
