After being rained out Monday, Glen Rose and Mayflower decided to give it another go Tuesday with the Beavers winning 3-0 and the Lady Beavers winning 15-1.
Both the boys and girls teams are undefeated in 3A Conference play,
Glen Rose was scheduled to be the visitor Monday, but accepted hosting duties Tuesday as a result of Mayflower’s field conditions.
Beavers head coach Chase Meyers said, “That was the best game we’ve played as a team,†adding that sophomore Colin Hunter, who earned the save on the mound and made the play of the game at third base, “had a great game all around.â€
Benton freshman Carmen King scored a goal off an assist from Mariah Temple at the 9:29 minute mark in the first half as the Benton Lady Panthers defeated Malvern 1-0 Monday night.
“She is actually our leading scorer on the year,†coach Jason Gentry said. “She has five goals on the year and does a good job of finding the net. She controls the ball.
“Sometimes she tries to do too much but when she just focuses on striking the ball, she does a good job. It helps that she has got some pretty good players around her too.â€
