Carmon Woodrow Hulsey

Carmon Woodrow Hulsey, 94, of Benton, passed away June 23.  He was born March 4, 1917 in Sayre, Alabama to the late William and Pearl Hulsey.  Carmon was a Pipe Fitter for Reynolds Metal Company, member of Calvary Baptist Church of Benton, Benton Lodge 34 and a  Army Veteran of World War II.
 He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers and two grandchildren.

John Warren Page, 63, of Benton, passed away June 22, 2011.  He was born January 29, 1948 in Morrison, Illinois to the late Beverly W. and Barbara Page.  John’s passion was singing with Barber Shop Quartets.
 Survivors, brother, James S. Page and wife, Carole of Spring, Texas, sisters, Pamela Fjeld-Hansen and husband, Jan of The Woodlands, Texas, Patricia Luers and husband, Dennis of Grapevine, Texas.
 Cremation arrangements were through Ashby Funeral Home.Memorial services will be held at a later date.

Lakeside runs through Everett 19-0

BENTON — Lakeside scored 12 runs in the top of the third inning to defeat the Benton AA Legion Everett GMC baseball team 19-0 in three innings.
Benton used four different pitchers as Lakeside nearly batted around twice in the inning. A three-run home run by Lakeside’s lead off hitter was the big blow but Lakeside also managed a two-run single and a RBI double.
A bases loaded walk forced in a run as did a hit by pitch.
