The Benton Lady Panther golf team finished as conference runner-up and fourth in state after a two-day tournament.
On the first day, Grace Lile shot an 89, Karli Lipinski shot a 104, Daphne Bono shot a 119, Kayla Payne shot a 104, Kaylen Presnall shot a 117 and Bentonâ€™s team total was a 297.
The first day round total was good enough for a second place finish in conference behind conference champion El Dorado, who shot a 289 as a team.
On the second day, Lile shot a 85, Lipinski shot a 89, and Payne shot a 95.
After missing out on the 7A girls state golf championships final round on Tuesday, the Bryant Lady Hornetsâ€™ golf team had two players golfing as individuals.
The Lady Hornets came in sixth place out of 10 teams on Monday in the championshipâ€™s opening round, and the top five teams advanced to the final round.
Sophomore Peyton Weaver shot a 15-over 86 on Tuesday after scoring an 85 on Monday. She finished ninth overall with her 171 and earned all-state honors.
Debbie Lynn (House) Wilson, 57 of Benton passed away September 24, at the Saline Memorial Hospice House in Bryant. She was born to parents William Nathan and Emily House on December 23, 1953 in Little Rock.
Martha L. Wisely, 87, of Benton, passed away Tuesday, September 27.Â She was born September 22, 1924 in Sheridan, Arkansas.Â Mrs. Wisely was a homemaker and of the Baptist faith.Â She was preceded in death by her parents, Marion and Ola Camp; husband, Carl Dean Wisely; brother, Rayburn Camp and a sister, Vida Mashburn.
She is survived by two sons, Scott Wisely and wife Frances of Benton and Dale Wisely and wife Marilyn of Alabama; brother, Lynn Camp of Sheridan; two sisters, Fannie Linn of Morrilton and Cloma Dean of Colorado; four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
