Lady Hornets build up team, beat Van Buren

October 14, 2011

After getting swept by Conway on Tuesday night to snap a six-game conference winning streak, the Bryant Lady Hornets' volleyball team responded with a sweep of their own, defeating the Van Buren Lady Pointers 3-0 (25-23, 25-19, 25-8) Thursday night on the road.
"Last night was an amazing night for our girls," Bryant Coach Beth Solomon said. "We spent Wednesday doing team-building activities instead of really focusing on skills.
"After Conway Tuesday night, we realized that our girls needed some really strong team-bonding activities – they have the skills they need."

The Bryant Freshman Hornets football team defeated Little Rock Catholic Rockets’ freshman team 36-22 on Thursday at Bryant Stadium, but the game wasn’t without drama. Bryant remained undefeated improving to 7-0 record, but after getting up 22-0, Catholic charged back to tie it 22-22 before the half.
“They had a chance to beat us,” Bryant Coach Kenny Horn said. “Fortunately our guys came through at the end.”
