Scottie Sue (Noel) Stevens,, 77, of Benton went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, Oct. 30, at Saline Memorial Hospice House in Bryant.
She was born Nov. 26, 1934. in Halliday to the late Purvis Noel and Marie (Hampton) Noel.
She was baptized in 1948 at New Liberty Baptist Church in Greene County, in a pond in Marmaduke and has been an active member of First Baptist Church of Benton since March of 1957.Â Mrs. Stevens retired as business manager for the Benton School District.
Peggy Ruth Wilkins, 80, of Alexander passed away on October 28, with her family by her side.Â She was born on July 24, 1932 to the late, Roy C. and Mary Alice Jewell in Strong.Â Peggy was a dedicated member for 36 years at Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Otter Creek.Â She enjoyed spending time with her family and researching her family genealogy.Â
She is preceded in death by her parents; her son, Jerrell Wilkins Jr.; her daughter, Mary Carol Lariveria; her brother, Roy and her sister, Nell.
Freda Odean (Richmond) Harris, 86, of Benton, passed away October 25. She was born July 3, 1926 to the late John & Lydia (Brummett) Richmond. She was a member of Sharon Missionary Baptist Church and the Kate Wright Sunday School class. She was an avid lover of nature and enjoyed working with flowers, gardening and bird watching. She spent her life being the best wife, mother and Nanny that any family could be blessed to have.
Larry M. Hughes, 67, of Bentonville passed away October 24, at Regency hospital of Springdale. He was born January 18, 1945 in Benton to Eric and Mary Bragg Hughes. After graduating from high school, Larry went into the police academy. He was a proud police officer for in Benton and then later for the city of Berryville. He retired from his position as a police officer at NWACC, after 12 years of service. Â Larry was in avid reader, fisherman and hunter. He was a member at St. Stephens Catholic Church in Bentonville.
