Betty L. Martin, 73, of Benton passed away Tuesday, Dec. 18.Â She was born March 2, 1939, to the late Beatha Ruby McKay White and Monroe White in Humphrey, Mo. Betty was a homemaker and of the Lutheran faith.
She was predeceased by her husband, James F. Martin.
Connie Ann Barger Fehrmann, 59, a resident of Benton, passed away Tuesday, Dec. 18, 2012, in Benton. She was born Oct. 3, 1953, in St. Louis, Mo., to the late Stuart Barger and Alverne Short Barger.Â
Phyllis Kathleen Grimes, 89, of Bryant passed away Dec. 18.Â She was born April 16, 1923, in Little Rock to the late Dwight and Anna Dailey Hoffman.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Charlie Lee Grimes; and a son, Carroll Edward Matthews.
She is survived by her grandson, Chuck Matthews; a granddaughter, Theresa Matthews Bolen; great-grandchildren, Jennifer and Christa Matthews, Melanie, Samantha and Calvin Benefield; a great-great grandson, Brayden Brown; and a niece, Becky Sutton Darner.
Imogene "Jean" Caple Baxley, 73, a lifelong resident of the Sardis community, passed away on Thursday, Dec. 20, with her family by her side.
Born May 20,1939, to the late Elliott and Martha Jane Caple, Jean was the youngest of five children. She attended Bryant Schools from first through 12th grades where she played softball and was on the Senior High School Homecoming Court. Jean was a graduate of the Bryant High School Class of 1957.
My mother, Glenda Lee Neckar, was bornÂ Aug. 23, 1935,Â to Dovie May Pendergrass and James Ellory Spicer in Paris, Ark. She lived in Benton, Waco, Texas, and Tulsa, Okla. Her final destination was Hot Springs.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her sister, Eloise Spicer French; a brother, James Clifton Spicer; and, most recently, her dearest friend in the world, Ruth Landers.
She is survived by her sister, Martha Rowles of Hot Springs; and a niece, Glenda Rowles Pippin of Hot Springs.Â
Lee Anne Tyler, 47, of LaGrange, Ga., formerly of Bryant, Ark., passed away on Dec. 16, with her family by her side. She was born Jan. 10, 1965, to Bill and Patricia Patten in Pine Bluff.
Lee Ann was a very loving and devoted wife, mother, daughter, sister and friend. She was very involved with her childrenâ€™s lives and loved being a â€ścheer mom."
Lee Anne was a member of Baptist Tabernacle Church in LaGrange.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Patricia Patten.
Glenn Ray Spears, 64, of Benton, passed away Saturday, Dec. 15.Â He was born Aug. 17, 1948 in Winfield, La.Â Mr. Spears retired from the Navy as a Chief Petty Officer, owned Spears Adult Daycare and wrote policies and procedures for adult day care facilities in Arkansas.
He love to kayak but his greatest joy in life were his grandchildren.Â
Mr. Spears was preceded in death by his parents, Allen and Lillian Spears; a brother, Delbert Spears; and a sister-in-law, Carol Spears.
Richard Manuel Melian, 25, of Benton passed away Saturday, Dec. 15.Â He was born June 30, 1987, in Newark, N.J., to Moises A. Melian and Ana Carolina Castro-Mejia.
Before moving to Benton, he graduated from Matheny School and Hospital in Peapack, N.J., in 2008.Â Richard was a member of Northside Church of Christ in Benton and was loved by many.Â
Wayne Dale Graddy, 85, of Benton passed away Saturday, Dec. 15.Â He was born Dec. 14, 1927, in Morganton.Â
Mr. Graddy served in the U.S. Army and was chief of the Springhill Fire Department for more than 20 years.Â He was a carpenter and a member of the Highway Church of Christ in Benton.Â
Mr. Graddy was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Mattie Pearl Graddy; a brother, Ralph Graddy; and two sisters, Ruby Cullum and Laveda Haltom.
