Cathryn Elizabeth Brown, 88, of Benton passed away Thursday, Feb. 23, at Heartland Rehab and Care Center. She was born March 1, 1923 in McCrory to James and Oma Rooks VanLandingham. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church.Â
She was preceded in death by her husband of 69 years, Clyde Brown; her parents; a brother, Richard; and a son, Larry Brown.
Lloyd Frederick "Freddie" Prickett, 84, of Bryant passed away on Wednesday evening, Feb. 22.
Freddie was born June 10, 1927, in Bryant, the son of Fay Rowland-Prickett and Edward Wesley Prickett. He grew up with a love for baseball as the third baseman for the Bryant Rebels. The son of a farmer, he learned what it meant to put in a hard day's work at an early age. He graduated from Bryant High School in 1945 as the salutatorian. He then chose to attend Draughan's Business School before returning home to take care of the family-owned Prickett Dairy Inc. as vice president.
