BAUXITE â€“ Lack of defense and hitting led to a 6-0 Bauxite Miners loss to the Benton Freshmen Panthers on Monday in Bauxite. Bauxite Coach Michael Mattox summed up his teamâ€™s performance.

Freshmen Panthers starter Jared Barker had something to with the Miners lack of hitting as he pitched five and two-third shutout innings giving up just one hit. Barker walked three and struck out two in 80 pitches.
HASKELL â€“ For the Harmony Grove Cardinals, wins have been few and far between. It was March 28 when the Cardinals last found themselves in the win column with a 5-2 victory over 3A South conference favorite and arch rival Glen Rose. Since that time, the Cardinals have lost seven straight including a loss to conference foe Fountain Lake on Monday, 6-4.
FARMINGTON, Ark. - The Bryant Lady Hornets won their 26th and 27th consecutive games dating to last year when they traveled to Farmington to play two against Mansfield and Farmington on Saturday. Bryant defeated the Mansfield Lady Tigers 14-2 and beat the Farmington Lady Cardinals 7-2 to improve their undefeated season to 24-0 overall and 7-0 in the 7A Central conference.
BEEBE - The Benton Lady Panthers strolled into Saturdayâ€™s Beebe Tournament riding an 18 game winning streak and looking to tack on even more to their already successful season.
WIth a pitching dual brewing through the first three innings, both Benton and Westside Jonesboro combined for three hits and two walks before the low scoring affair finally got itâ€™s first run in the fourth.
