May 31 will mark the 43rd wedding anniversary of Bryant residents Anna
Elizabeth and Joe Ogden. The couple met in 1969 at the Wesleyan Foundation
on the campus of the - then - Arkansas Agricultural and Mechanical College
in Monticello, where Ogden worked.
âIâd come in for a free meal on Sunday nights," Anna muses. âI didnât have
a car, and he offered to give me a ride back home.â
âTwo weeks after we met, I told her,âIâm going to marry you',â Ogden says.
âI told him, âthat sounds like a pretty good idea to me,ââ Anna laughs.
Weâre basically a month into the season and former St. Louis Cardinal and current Los Angeles Angel of Anaheim Albert Pujols is batting .190 with just one home run and nine RBIs (as of Tuesday). I wonât lie, I love it. Once an avid Pujols supporter, he left a bad taste in my mouth when he left the Cardinals after 11 Hall-of-Fame seasons. In just those 11 years with the Cardinals, Pujols had a .328 average with 445 home runs, 455 doubles,1,291 runs and 1,329 RBIs. Those are Hall-of-Fame numbers already.
