Rodger DeWayne McCallister

Rodger DeWayne McCallister, age 70, of Benton, passed away Fri., May 4, 2012.  He was born Aug. 15, 1941 in England, Arkansas to the late Sylvester McCallister and Eula Marie Dardenne McCallister.  He retired from Alcoa after 30 years and was a member of Forest Hills Missionary Baptist Church in Benton.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Luther McCallister and Edward McCallister, one sister, Lenora Allen, and three nephews, Marvin Darrell McCallister, Eddie Garner and Jonathan Garner.

Mary Jewell Brown

Mary Jewell Brown, 94, of Benton, died Thursday, May 3.  She was born May 15, 1917 in Bauxite to Osroe and Fleeta Akins.  Mrs. Brown was retired from Benton Public Schools where she taught third grade at Angie Grant Elementary School before becoming a counselor at West Side Junior High.  She was a member of First Baptist Church in Benton.  In leisure time she enjoyed gospel music, antiques and oil painting.  She practiced disciplines of industry, determination, hard work and frugality. 

Gerald “Jerry” Landreth

Gerald “Jerry” Landreth,,  80, of Traskwood, passed away May 3.  He was born April 18, 1932 in Traskwood, to the late Arlin and Ruth Summerville Landreth.  He was a member of Forest Towers Baptist Church, Justice of the Peace for 12 years and Board Member on the Southwest Water Board for many years.  Jerry retired from Reynolds Metals Corp.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Albert, Dewayne and George “Buddy” Landreth, sister, Shirley Shelton, nephew, Chris Hulsey and daughter in law, Becky Landreth.
