If there is one thing that LeBron James and company need, it is positive feedback from the public. Since James announced that he was "taking his talents to South Beach" before the start of the 2010 season, he has been slammed with negativity and crude remarks from millions of people across the world.
Bond has been set at $250,000 for murder suspect Danny Wayne Stalnacker, who voluntarily surrendered to Hot Spring County authorities at 3:45 p.m. Tuesday.
Stalnacker, 64, appeared before District Judge Mike Robinson on Wednesday and is scheduled for a subsequent appearance at 1 p.m. Aug. 7.
Lt. Scotty Courtney of the Saline County Sheriff's Office said Stalnacker remains incarcerated at the Saline County Detention Center.
Stalnacker, 64, is charged with first-degree murder in conjunction with the death of 35-year-old Christopher Patterson of Traskwood.
Representatives of Benton Area Chamber of Commerce, in conjunction with the city of Benton, Benton School District and Saline Memorial Hospital came together Wednesday for the first Benton Summit.
The event was held in the media room at Benton High School.
The theme for the summit was "Opening Doors." It was structured as an event to educate the community on the measures being taken by the four featured entities toward mutual cooperation.
Approximately 140 community residents attended.
Morgan Paul Richey Jr., 76, of Benton passed away June 19. He was born Feb. 16, 1936, in Saline County to the late Morgan Paul and Myrtle Richey Sr.Â
He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Linda Burnett.
