Bryant couple arrested for permitting child abuse

A Bryant couple was arrested Thursday for permitting child abuse, authorities told The Saline Courier.
Brandon N. Sutton, 31, and Holly G. Sutton, 26, were released from the Saline County jail on Friday after posting a $10,000 signature bond. Both are expected to appear in Benton District Court on Sept. 11.
The victim's mother reportedly contacted the Saline County Sheriff's Office on Wednesday after the daughter said a 16-year-old boy sexually molested her multiple times.

Lady Hornets finding consistency

BRYANT – After problems with inconsistency last season, the Bryant Lady Hornets volleyball team might have things figured out this year. The Lady Hornets finished last season second to volleyball powerhouse Conway in the 7A Central Conferencelast year, and was up 2-0 against Fort Smith Southside in the first two sets in the second round of the State Tournament before inconsistency set in again and the Lady Hornets lost the next three sets and the match to end their season.

GM awards $25,000 scholarship

Arkansas Gov. Mike Beebe visited Everett Buick GMC in Bryant Tuesday to personally congratulate Kayla Henderson of Bryant for winning a Buick Achievers Scholarship.
