Bryant handles Fair

September 30, 2012

The Bryant Lady Hornets hosted the Little Rock Fair War Eagles on Thursday night in 7A/6A South conference action and came up with their seventh sweep in eight conference games, with the Benton Lady Panthers being the only team to take conference undefeated Bryant to more than three games. Bryant won 3-0 (25-11, 25-9, 25-9) against Fair at Bryant gym.
“I’m proud of the girls,” Bryant Coach Beth Solomon said of her team. “We played better than the last time we played them; as far as not playing down and trying to stay at our level.”

The Alexander City Council called a special meeting late Friday and discussed at length about three items, but one item was tabled and another was dropped.
Mayor Paul Mitchell informed the council that Saline County District Judge Curtis Rickard requested the council to vote on a resolution that would authorize him to hire a court clerk. Rickard also requested the council set the salary for the court clerk position, which Mitchell said had been advertised recently at $9 an hour.
