Bryant golf makes school history at state tourney

The Bryant girls golf team accomplished something this season that has never been done in school history – make the second day of the state tournament as a whole team. This past week, the Lady Hornets competed in the 7A state tournament at Conway Country Club and walked away with a second-place conference finish and stalled at fourth in state, missing third by a single stroke.
The Lady Hornets shot a collective 274 on day one, finishing 10 strokes behind the conference champion Fayetteville.

Lady Panthers sweep

After losing in the finals to Avery, Texas, of a Henderson State University Tournament over the weekend, the Benton Lady Panther volleyball team went to El Dorado to play the Lady Wildcats in 7A/6A South conference action on Tuesday night. Benton swept El Dorado 3-0 (25-15, 25-8, 25-7) to improve to 6-1 in the South and 11-4 overall.

Time served is sentence for 10-time DWI offender Sheila Blair

Benton District Court Judge Mike Robinson has sentenced 48-year-old Sheila Blair to two days in jail for violating terms of her parole.
Since 1995, Blair has racked up a total of 10 DWI arrests and a slew of various charges, including endangering the welfare of minor.
In conjunction with Blair's latest arrest by Bryant police on Monday for public intoxication and disorderly conduct, she is scheduled to appear in Bryant District Court on Nov. 7.
