FOUNTAIN LAKE - After finishing the first half of conference play at 5-2, the Harmony Grove Cardinals have done a total 180 since getting back to work. After having their return game against Perryville canceled due to inclement weather, the Cardinals went on the road to Mayflower and lost 70-57. On Tuesday, the Cardinals continued to spin downward, falling to Fountain Lake on the road 59-54.
BAUXITE â€“ Behind 16 points from senior Mary Crow and another 16 by junior Amy Etheridge, the Bauxite Lady Miners handled the Ashdown Panthers in convincing fashion with a 64-45 win Tuesday night.
Junior Allison Tackett also poured in 13 points and senior Makayla Blanchett chipped in eight points, as Bauxite (13-5, 6-1 conference) continues its strong conference play.
â€śI thought offensively we got in a pretty good rhythm,â€ť Head Coach Josh Harrison said. â€śWe did a pretty good job of moving the ball and shot pretty well tonight.â€ť
BRYANT- The Bryant Hornets made nine 3-pointers in a 65-52 victory over the Lake Hamilton Wolves on Tuesday night. The Bryant Hornets improve to 13-7 (2-4) on the year.
â€śWeâ€™re going to have to be a team that does shoot it well,â€ť Bryant Coach Mike Abrahamson said. â€śItâ€™s hard work. Thereâ€™s a comfort level out there that we havenâ€™t seen all year in terms of our shooters.â€ť
BENTON â€“ It didnâ€™t look promising for the Benton Lady Panthers on Tuesday night, but they remained undefeated in 7A/6A South conference play with a 33-29 victory over the El Dorado Lady Wildcats at Benton Arena. Besides a 3-2 lead at the 5:54 mark of the first quarter, the Lady Panthers wouldnâ€™t lead again until sophomore guard Braxton Chumley hit a 3-pointer with 4:41 left in the fourth to give Benton a 28-27 lead.
