A jury of five men and seven women deliberated approximately seven and one-half hours before deciding that a former Alexander police officer was not guilty of wrongdoing in the Sept. 8, 2012, shooting death of Carleton Wallace.

Ruben â€śEddieâ€ť Williams, 62, passed away Oct. 2, 2013. Eddie was born Dec. 14, 1950, in Little Rock to the late Ruben Williams and Helen Ford. Eddie worked for Murryâ€™s Dinner Playhouse, where he retired.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Virgil Williams.
W. Keith Jackson, 62, passed on Wednesday, Oct. 2, 2013. He was born Dec. 2, 1950, in Artesia, N.M.
He grew up in Jal, N.M., and graduated from Jal High School. He graduated from Southwestern Assembly of God University, and received a master's degree at Pensacola Christian.
He was an associate pastor at The Church at Rock Creek. He served as the high school principal at Arkansas Baptist High School from 2000 to 2003, and served as a Christian school administrator for 24 years.
Keith was preceded in death by his father, J.D. Jackson.
Joyce Garmer, 89, a nurse, passed away Oct. 1, 2013. She was born June 28, 1924, in Benton. Joyce was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She dedicated her life to taking care of others and her family. Â
She is survived by her husband of 49 years, Russell Garmer; a son, Joe Garmer; a daughter, Vicki Christian and husband Ron; grandchildren, Paul, Sean and Stephanie Garmer;Â a brother, Tommy Gatlin and wife Myrt; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.Â
A jury has begun deliberations in the manslaughter trial of a former Alexander police officer. The trial for Nancy Cummings, 47, began Thursday in Saline County Circuit Court. The state rested its case earlier today and the defense then rested without calling witnesses.
Cummings is charged in conjunction with the shooting death of Carelton Wallace, 30, of Bryant.
