Jerry Earl Welton of Benton went to be with the Lord Sunday, Oct. 27, 2013, at the age of 79.
He was born Jan. 10, 1934, in Pottsville.
God gifted him with strength of character and a personality that drew love as well as admiration of all whose lives he touched. Through Jerryâ€™s work in church, schools, the Gideons and his lifelong profession in the car business, he left the testimony of his faith on many.
William Richard "Dick" Craft, age 79, of Bryant went to be with the Lord on Oct. 25, 2013, after a 28-year battle with Parkinsonâ€™s disease.
He was born June 22, 1934, in Southland, Texas. Richard served in the U.S. Army, Air National Guard and the U.S. Air Force.Â
He was an Eagle Scout and a member of the Order of the Arrow.
Dick was employed as a customer engineer for 30 years with IBM.
Nellie D. Fletcher, 93, of Benton died Thursday, Oct. 24, 2013.Â She was born Dec. 24, 1920, in McCool, Miss., to the late Samuel Jefferson Blaine and Fannie Elizabeth Vanlandingham Blaine.Â Nellie worked as an LPTN at the Benton Services Center and was a member of Emanuel Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Allen Fletcher; one brother; and four sisters.
Survivors include her son, Sammy Thweatt and wife Pat of Benton, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
James T. "Jim" Johnson, 86, of Shannon Hills died Thursday, Oct. 24, 2013.
He was born June 17, 1927, in Hickman County, Kentucky, to the late Carlos Dewey Johnson and Annie Lee Hicks Johnson.
Jim was a real estate appraiser and a veteran of the U.S. Army.Â He was a member of Sardis United Methodist Church and a former member of Rose City Cumberland Presbyterian Church in North Little Rock.
Mr. Johnson was a charter member of the Kentucky Farmhouse Fraternity at the University of Kentucky.
