Free family movie to be shown in Tyndall Park tonight

The Benton Parks and Recreation Department will be showing Looney Tunes and "The Lorax," today, starting at 7:30 p.m. in the amphitheater at Tyndall Park.
Benton Parks and Recreation will present free family movies throughout the summer.
Concessions will be available.

FBI ends Michigan search for Hoffa's remains

OAKLAND TOWNSHIP, Mich. — Beneath a swimming pool, under a horse farm and now a weed-grown field north of Detroit: For at least the third time in a decade, FBI agents grabbed shovels and combed through dirt and mud in the search for Jimmy Hoffa's remains or clues to the disappearance of the former Teamsters boss.

Once again, the search was futile.

The Saline County Regional Solid Waste Management District board will meet at 2 p.m. today at the Office of Emergency Management, 102 South Main St., Level B in Benton at 2:00 p.m. This is the board's regular monthly meeting and is open to the public.
