A precautionary boil water notice has been issued for residents of the city of Shannon Hills living in the area located east of Vimy Ridge Road to Sardis Road affecting approximately 584 customers.
A water main break has occurred at Laddie Drive.
Therefore, as a precaution, all affected customers are advised that the water may be unsafe for human consumption and water used for drinking, cooking, making ice, brushing teeth or washing dishes be boiled briskly for one minute prior to use. As an alternative, bottled water may be used.

Former Lt. Gov. Bill Halter dropped out of the race for Arkansas governor Monday, saying he wanted to avoid a divisive primary with former U.S. Rep. Mike Ross for the Democratic nomination in 2014.
Halter, who entered the race in January, told supporters in an email that he was ending his bid for the state's top office. A spokesman for Halter said the former lieutenant governor would not be available for further comment.
A special meeting of the Shannon Hills Park Committee is scheduled for July 29 at 6 p.m. city hall. A regular meeting of the Shannon Hills Planning Commission is set for 6:30 p.m.
Shannon Hills City Hall is located at 10401 High Road East. Meetings are open to the public.
