Mary Louise Harrison Hancock, 87, of Benton passed away Sunday, Aug. 25, 2013. She was born March 16, 1926, in Saline County.
Mary was preceded in death by her parents, Millard and Lilla Williams Harrison; five brothers, Cecil Harrison, Harold Harrison, Garland Harrison, Edward Harrison and Maxie Harrison; one sister, Marguerite Vandegrift; and a grandchild, Jason Hancock.

Cody Lee Caudle

Cody Lee Caudle, 27, of Traskwood passed away Sunday, Aug. 25, 2013. 
He was born May 14, 1986, in Benton.  Cody worked in construction and was of the Baptist faith. 
He was preceded in death by his son, Cayde Wyatt Caudle.
He is survived by his father, Tommy Caudle; his mother, Dana Caudle; a twin brother, Casey Caudle; a sister, Tiffany Caudle; two nieces, Brooklyn and Bailey Caudle; and his grandparents, Ann and Tim Caudle and Melba and Hershel Hutcheson.
Funeral service is scheduled for 10 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 29, at Ashby Funeral Home. Burial will be in Traskwood Cemetery.

Arkansas lt. gov. drops out of race for Congress

LITTLE ROCK — Republican Lt. Gov. Mark Darr said Thursday that he's dropping out of the race to represent south Arkansas in Congress amid ethics questions over his campaign finance reports.

The decision came less than three weeks after Darr announced he was seeking the 4th District seat, hoping to replace incumbent Tom Cotton. Cotton, a Republican, is challenging Democratic Sen. Mark Pryor next year.
