Norma Lee (Bright) Hostetler of Benton passed away in Little Rock on Sept. 17, 2013, at the age of 79. She was born in Bryant on Jan. 10, 1934, to the late Lewis E. Bright and Cora (Gentry) Bright.Â
In addition to her parents, Norma was preceded in death by her two brothers, Euell â€śDickâ€ť Bright and Curtis â€śBurrâ€ť Bright; and one sister, Ruth Bright.
She is survived by two sons, Larry Sanders and Doug Sanders; a daughter, Tanya Brazil; and two sisters, Billie Jean Hibbard and Carolyn Colemen.
She also leaves behind eight grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
Warren â€śPeteâ€ť Kuhn Sr., 76, of Benton passed away Tuesday, Sept. 17, 2013.
He was born Jan. 27, 1937, in New London, Conn., to the late Harry and Alice Beeney Kuhn.
Pete was a member of Park Place Baptist Church of Bryant, the American Red Cross and Salem Fire DepartmentÂ He was retired from the Air Force and Arkansas State Highway and Transportation Department..
Pete was preceded in death by his parents and great-granddaughter, Briauna Ceree Tavares.
CABOT â€“ The Benton Junior Lady Panther volleyball team went to Cabot to play the South team and came away with their first conference victory of the season on Monday night. Benton beat Cabot South in close sets, losing the first 25-27 before taking the next two 25-18 and 15-13.
It was the Jr. Lady Panthers' first close win of the year and Benton's first three-set win. Emme Edmondson had eight kills, Lenzie Newman seven and Sydney Channel had five for a well-rounded attack.Â
