Douglas Wayne Jondro, 58, of Bauxite passed away Friday, Sept. 13, 2013.Â He was born Nov. 24, 1954 in Little Rock.Â
Douglas was preceded in death by his father, Bud Jondro.
He is survived by his wife, Janette Jondro of Bauxite; a son, David Jondro and wife Sara of Russellville; a daughter, Amie White and husband John of Benton; his mother, Bobbi Mozley of North Little Rock; a sister, Vicki Vier and husband Bill of East End; and two grandchildren, Lannah Grace White and Elliott Joy White.
Craig Carl Byrd, 52, of Malvern, passed away September 16, 2013 after a losing battle with many health problems. He was born on September 23, 1960 in Benton to Cleston and Carmon Byrd. Craig attended and graduated from Harmony Grove High School in 1978.
Craig was preceded in death by his parents, Cleston and Carmon Byrd of Haskell and his wife, Patty Sands of Malvern.Â
Infant Robyn Marie Yates of Benton passed away on September 17, 2013.Â She was also born this day to her loving parents, Cole Yates and Katie Simmons.Â
She is preceded in death by her great grandparents, Landon Bryant, Mike Simpson, Sharon Simmons and Charlie Williams and aunt, Robin Nicole Yates.
Ben F. Palmer, 71, of Benton, who was born March 23, 1942, passed away Sept. 16, 2013. He was the pastor of Mt. Harmony Missionary Baptist Church for 26 years. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Felix and Floy Palmer.
He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Lynda Palmer; children, Nancy Palmer and Ben Palmer; grandchildren, Kelly (Larry) Chase and Samuel Palmer; great-grandchildren, Madeline Palmer and Kylee Chase; and members of his church family.
Walter E. Collatt, 85, of Haskell passed away Sunday, Sept. 15, 2013. at his home.Â He was born Jan. 4, 1928, in Haskell to the late Roy and Lillian Smart Collatt.Â
Mr. Collatt was a member of Mt. Harmony Missionary Baptist Church and was employed with Reynolds Mines for 35 years. He was in the U.S. Army and a veteran of the Korean War.
In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by two sisters.
Ruth Mae Smith, 83, Benton, died Sunday.Â She was born Nov. 19, 1929, in Waldron to the late Bert and Mary Wood Singleton. Ruth worked most of her life in California as a supervisor in electronics production.
She was preceded in death by her husband, James Harvey Smith.Â
She is survived by her daughter, Linda Zapata; two grandchildren, all of California; and a brother, Jody B. Singleton of Benton.
Cremation was through Ashby Funeral Home of Benton.

At the start of a Saline County Quorum Court meeting to review resumes of sheriff candidates on Monday, the court was presented a letter from prosecuting attorney Ken Casady in which he stated "it is of paramount importance for public confidence that you appoint a person that has no ties to the Sheriff's Department or to Saline County government."
WASHINGTON (AP) â€” As many as two gunmen launched an attack Monday morning inside the Washington Navy Yard, spraying gunfire on office workers in the cafeteria and in the hallways at the heavily secured military installation in the heart of the nation's capital, authorities said. At least 12 people were killed.
One gunman was dead after he fired on a police officer, and police hunted for a second possible attacker who may have been disguised in a military-style uniform, authorities said. It wasn't clear how the gunman died.
