Wanda J. Mauldin, 64, of Benton, died Wednesday, June 5, 2013, in Heritage Health and Rehabilitation Center Hot Springs.
Wanda was born Feb. 6, 1949, in Emmet to the late Rose S. Mauldin, but grew up in Benton.
Wanda attended the Ralph Bunche School in Benton and worked at Benton Services Center until she became disabled. She was a member of St Paul Baptist Church and was an usher.
Patsy Louise McCool, 78, of Bauxite passed away June 12, 2013. She was born April 2, 1935, in Bauxite to the late Horace and Emma Kentner Whitfield.Â
Patsy was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Edgar McCool; her stepmother, Alma Robinson Whitfield; a sister, Gail Craig; a grandson, Robert McCool; and a great grandson, Preston Crutchfield.
Ola Jannette Lovell of Benton died Thursday, June 12, 2013. She was born Dec. 27, 1917, in Hot Springs.
Jannette lived in Saline County for more than 70 years and was a member of Holland Chapel Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Ernest Swinford and Martha Ann Elizabeth Harrison Swinford; her husband, Charlie Clifton Lovell; a daughter, Janice Eubanks(Bill Eubanks); and a grandson, Wayne Lovell.
A Saline County icon, former Sheriff Joe Lee Richards Sr., 78, of Benton died in his sleep the evening of June 13, 2013, surrounded by his family and loved ones.
Mr. Richards was one of the unique individuals who was recognized immediately without repeating their whole name. Ask anyone who lived in Saline County for the past few decades, “do you know Joe Lee?” and everyone knew who you were talking about.
Joe Lee was born to Garland Mick and Zella Richards in Saline County on May 15, 1935, and worked most of his life in this county.
Faye F. Emmons, 83, of Benton passed away Wednesday, June 12, 2013. She was born Jan. 7, 1930, in San Angelo, Texas.
Faye was a homemaker and a member of Tyndall Park Missionary Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Kelvin and Katie Marshall Williams; her husband, John D. Emmons; her brothers, Fred and Earl Williams; and her sisters, Judy Metcalf, Aline Erwin and Loyce Fisher.
She is survived by her sons, Steve Emmons of Benton, John Scott Emmons of Texas, and Alan Emmons of Benton; six grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren.

LITTLE ROCK — The National Weather Service says Arkansas will get a break from the summer heat this week.
Rain and thunderstorms are predicted for most of the state. Forecasters say northwest Arkansas should see rain beginning Monday morning, with the front moving to the central and southern parts of the state Monday afternoon and evening.
Forecasters say some isolated storms could be severe, but a widespread outbreak isn't expected. The strongest storms could bring heavy rainfall locally to some areas.

The Big Movers Construction storytime party is set for 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, June 18 at Boswell Library in Bryant and 10:30 a.m. Thursday, June 20 at Herzfeld Library in Benton. ATLANTA — Far from reversing course, Senate Democrats who backed President Barack Obama's health care law and now face re-election in GOP-leaning states are firming up their support for the overhaul even as Republican criticism intensifies.
Haskell Historical Society will meet 3:30 p.m., Tuesday, June 18, at Haskell City Hall.
Steve Perdue will be doing a Powerpoint presentation about “Saline County Properties on the National Historic Register." The meeting is open to the public. MOUNTAIN HOME – The Benton McClendon’s Appliances improved to 1-1 in the Twin Lakes Classic with a 6-3 victory over Batesville on Thursday in Mountain Home. Benton lost 14-3 against DeSoto, Mo., on Wednesday.
Leadoff man Tyler Lewis and No. 2 hitter Jack James remained hot and are providing a 1-2 punch for the McClendon’s at the top of the order. Lewis doubled to leadoff the bottom of the first and would later score Benton’s first run for an early 1-0 lead.
