Charles 'Ronnie' Tucker

Charles “Ronnie” Tucker, 66, of Benton died Sunday, March 24, 2013, at Saline Memorial Hospice House in Bryant.  He was born June 20, 1946 in Manning.  He was a retired customer service manager for the city of North Little Rock, an Air Force veteran of the Vietnam War, and a member of First Baptist Church of Bryant. 
He was preceded in death by his parents, Wallace and Winnie Chandler Tucker; and one brother, Wendell Tucker. 

Timothy Austin Davis

Timothy Austin Davis, 53, of Bauxite went to be with his Lord on Friday, March 22, 2013, at Saline Memorial Hospice House in Bryant.
He was born Sept. 27, 1959, in Malvern to L.A. and Louise Davis.
Tim Davis will be remembered as a beloved Papa, husband, father, son, brother, uncle, cousin and friend. He was loved by many people, touched the lives of many, and was a man strong of faith. He enjoyed spending time with his grandsons and family.

Layla Rose Tolar

Layla Rose Tolar, 8, went to be with her Lord on Thursday, March 21, 2013, at her home in Lonsdale.
Layla was born Sept. 29, 2004, in Little Rock. She was a student at Fountain Lake Elementary School and was an ambassador for Arkansas Children's Hospital. She was also a member of Faith Fellowship Church.

Dr. Jimmy Charles Porter

Dr. Jimmy Charles Porter died March 18, 2013, at Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston, Mass. He was 73.
He was born June 5, 1939, in Little Rock to Charles C. and Nona Thomas Porter.
Preceding him in death were his parents and a brother, Gary Porter.
Survivors include his wife of 51 years, Joyce Nelson Porter; a daughter, Pamela Lentz and her husband, Clay, of Conway; a son, Jeffery Porter and his wife, Cecilia, of Lexington, Mass.; grandchildren Will and Molly Lentz of Conway, and Lindsey, Sydney, and Nicholas Porter of Lexington, Mass.; and a brother Randy Porter of Benton.

Thomasene (Tommie) Caple

Thomasene (Tommie) Caple, 93, passed away in her home in Hot Springs, on March 18, 2013.  Born November 30, 1919 in Gurdon, to Clarence and Cora Nix.  Tommie lived in Benton for 50 years, and the last 43 years on Lake Hamilton in Hot Springs, where her hobbies included fishing and gardening.
She was of the Baptist faith.
She was predeceased by her husband and father of her children, Elbert Simmons, and her second husband, Alvin Caple; two sisters, Jackie Wells and Lucille Turner; and one son, Kenneth Earl Simmons.

Rolland Clayton Hammer

Rolland Clayton. Hammer, 85, of Conway, passed from this life on Thursday, March 21, 2013. He was born on Monday, May 16, 1927 in Beloit, Wis. to the late Henry Victor and Merle Hart Hammer. Mr. Hammer is a member of Calvary Missionary Baptist Church.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Merle Hammer and one sister.

The first wall of the Benton event center was lifted into place Tuesday morning. Weighing 80,000 lbs., the wall was hoisted by crane and secured by workers from project construction team CDI of Little Rock.

Karen Denise Curtis Higgins

Karen Denise Curtis Higgins, 52, of Mayflower was greeted by the Lord and her sweet baby, Haylee, on Wednesday, March 20, 2013. She was born Nov. 17, 1960, to George and Sue Curtis of Benton.
Denise was the keeper of the future. She held the tiniest of hands and the largest of hearts. She nurtured our most precious gifts, our children and our hearts. They kept her smile beaming and her light shining as she passed on a piece of her gift to us all.

William 'Bill' Herbert Stoecker

William “Bill” Herbert Stoecker, 65, of Benton died Wednesday, March 20, 2013.
The son of the late Herbert Carroll Stoecker and the late Rubye Clark Stoecker, he was born in Ballenger, Texas, and grew up in Marianna.  He graduated from T. A. Futrall High School in 1965.  He earned a Bachelor of Music Education degree from Arkansas A & M College in Monticello in 1969. He began his teaching career as a band director in Dewitt, from 1969 until 1973.

Margie E. King, 80, of Benton passed away on March 19, 2013, in Hot Springs.  She was born Nov. 24, 1932, to the late Elmer and Laura Huett in Mountain Home. She spent her life making a home for her family and treasured the time she spent with them.
She was a member of Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church in Benton.
She was preceded in death by her husband of over 55 years, Homer; two daughters, Cynthia Zuber and Karen Robertson; and three sisters, Wilma, Helen and Pat.
