Leo Alden Stone, 77, of Haskell died Sunday, Jan. 27. He was born Sept. 14, 1935 in Olton, Texas. Leo was a retired computer programmer for John Deere.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Alvis and Leona Stone, and his wife, Sandra Stone.
He is survived by his sons, Roland Stone and wife Terri of Haskell and Danny Stone of Tennessee; brothers Smokey Stone of Oklahoma and Bobby Stone of Utah; and sisters Wanda Stone of Texas, Ruth Pope of Missouri, and Audrey Vaughn of Texas.
Local arrangements are by Ashby Funeral Home.
A memorial service will be held later in Oklahoma.
Ladd Owens, 88, of Bauxite died Sunday, Jan. 27. He was born Sept. 4, 1924 in Plainview. Ladd was retired after 20 years at Alcoa as an oiler.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Louella Ladd Owens; son Gary Owens; two brothers; and three sisters.
Madora Earle Hollinger of Prattsville died Sunday, Jan. 27, at Saline Memorial Hospice in Benton at the age of 90. Mrs. Hollinger was born April 13, 1922 in Prattsville, the daughter of the late George Wyatt and Audrey Augusta Lindsey Earle. She was a faithful member of Sweet Home Missionary Baptist Church and worked many years at Rockwell and the Whippet. She enjoyed quilting, working in her yard, cooking â€” especially her fried pies, and spending time with her family.

Earl Monroe Osburn, 89, of Benton; passed away Saturday, January 26.Â He was born February 18, 1923 in Schaberg.Â Mr. Osburn was a member of the First Pentecostal Church of Bryant where he was a Deacon and retired from truck driving after 47 years.Â
He was preceded in death by his parents, Oliver and Mary Belle Osburn; four brothers, Johnny and Robert Osburn and Gene and Leroy Thurber and a sister, Mandy McNeal.
George N. Phillips, 79, of Benton passed away Wednesday, Jan. 23.
He was born Feb. 2, 1933, in Centerville, Iowa.
George was a retired carpenter and a Lutheran.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Velma Porter Phillips; and his wife, Marion Phillips.
Survivors include a son, Scott Philips of Benton; a daughter, Sherry Moore of Bella Vista; a brother, Robert Phillips of New Point, Calif.; two sisters, Marietta Permann of Wisconsin and Imogene "Ruth" Welch of Washington state; one grandchild and two great-grandchildren.
Charles Edward "Chuck" Matthews, 49, of Benton passed away Thursday, Jan. 24.Â He was born May 17, 1963 in Dallas, Texas.Â
Chuck was a D.J. and an I.T. specialist.
He was preceded in death by his father, Carroll Matthews; and grandparents, Phyllis and Charlie Grimes and Charles Murphy Stockton.
He is survived by his mother, Sasha Stockton; his grandmother, Eunice Stockton; two daughters, Jennifer and Christa Matthews; a grandson, Brayden Brown; three sisters, Theresa Matthews Bolen, Malena Smith and Nena Crist; other family members and friends.
William C. Vaughan Sr., age 84, of Alexander passed away Thursday, Jan. 24, 2013.Â He was born March 14, 1928, in Texas.Â
Mr. Vaughan was a self-employed mechanic and served in the U.S. Navy.Â
He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Dorothy Vaughan and his wife, Beulah Vaughan.
He is survived by two sons, Billy Vaughan and John Vaughan and wife Shirley, all of Alexander; a brother, Ray Vaughan of Little Rock; a sister, Jewell Gottsponer of Maumelle; and two grandchildren, Jeremy Vaughan and wife Heather and Melanie Johnson and husband Jason.
Frank Mills Crabb, 79, of Benton, died Friday, Jan. 25. He was born in Wynne on March 26, 1933. Frank was the seventh of eight children, born to the late Aaron Floyd Wills and Winifred Floy Chadwick Wills.
The Saline County Sheriff's Office has confirmed the identity of a dead body found off River Road on Sunday as 19-year-old Gregory Tyrone Pikes of Benton.
As of press time, no person(s) of interest have been named by authorities. The manner in which Pikes was killed was also not released as of press time.
