Cathy D. Watts, 60, of Benton passed away March 27, 2013. She was born July 13, 1952, in Dumas.
She was a longtime member of Ridgecrest Baptist Church. Cathy was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was an inspiration to many and will be deeply missed by all.
Cathy graduated from Benton High School in 1970 and was an LPN working for Dr. John Wright in Benton.
She was preceded in death by her father, Jim B. Mabry.
Rev. A.M. Block, 81, of the Sardis Community, passed away on March 27, 2013. Brother Block was born Feb. 19, 1932, in Clovis, N.M.Â
He married his high school sweetheart, Barbara Couch on Dec. 19, 1951, after a courtship that began with a fishing trip. Along with his wife, he raised two sons, Kenny and Michael and one princess, LaNita, by modeling hard work and sharing great wisdom. He then became the proud and generous grandfather of three grandsons who now possess his gracious and giving spirit.
Noland Eli Abbott,, 81, of Benton, passed away on March 25, 2013 in Benton. He was born in Hunt County, Texas on August 25, 1931 to Clem B. and Celia E. Abbott.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his twin brother, Roland Abbott; sisters, Ruth Woodard and Doris June Abbott.
Noland is survived by his sons, David Abbott and Steve Abbott; brothers Charles Abbott and wife Esther and Dale Abbott and wife Karen; sister, Gale Baker and husband Kara; and four grandchildren.
Graveside service will be 2 p.m. Thursday, March 28 at Shady Grove Cemetery, Greenville, Texas.
Donald Hope Garner, 95, of Benton, went to be with the Lord Tuesday, March 26, 2013 at Saline Memorial Hospital Hospice House in Bryant. He was born September 14, 1917 in Fordyce, to the late William Ed and Lulu Tolson Garner. Mr.

Charles “Ronnie” Tucker, 66, of Benton died Sunday, March 24, 2013, at Saline Memorial Hospice House in Bryant. He was born June 20, 1946 in Manning. He was a retired customer service manager for the city of North Little Rock, an Air Force veteran of the Vietnam War, and a member of First Baptist Church of Bryant.Â
He was preceded in death by his parents, Wallace and Winnie Chandler Tucker; and one brother, Wendell Tucker.Â
Timothy Austin Davis, 53, of Bauxite went to be with his Lord on Friday, March 22, 2013, at Saline Memorial Hospice House in Bryant.
He was born Sept. 27, 1959, in Malvern to L.A. and Louise Davis.
Tim Davis will be remembered as a beloved Papa, husband, father, son, brother, uncle, cousin and friend. He was loved by many people, touched the lives of many, and was a man strong of faith. He enjoyed spending time with his grandsons and family.
Layla Rose Tolar, 8, went to be with her Lord on Thursday, March 21, 2013, at her home in Lonsdale.
Layla was born Sept. 29, 2004, in Little Rock. She was a student at Fountain Lake Elementary School and was an ambassador for Arkansas Children's Hospital. She was also a member of Faith Fellowship Church.
Dr. Jimmy Charles Porter died March 18, 2013, at Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston, Mass. He was 73.
He was born June 5, 1939, in Little Rock to Charles C. and Nona Thomas Porter.
Preceding him in death were his parents and a brother, Gary Porter.
Survivors include his wife of 51 years, Joyce Nelson Porter; a daughter, Pamela Lentz and her husband, Clay, of Conway; a son, Jeffery Porter and his wife, Cecilia, of Lexington, Mass.; grandchildren Will and Molly Lentz of Conway, and Lindsey, Sydney, and Nicholas Porter of Lexington, Mass.; and a brother Randy Porter of Benton.
Thomasene (Tommie) Caple, 93, passed away in her home in Hot Springs, on March 18, 2013. Born November 30, 1919 in Gurdon, to Clarence and Cora Nix. Tommie lived in Benton for 50 years, and the last 43 years on Lake Hamilton in Hot Springs, where her hobbies included fishing and gardening.
She was of the Baptist faith.
She was predeceased by her husband and father of her children, Elbert Simmons, and her second husband, Alvin Caple; two sisters, Jackie Wells and Lucille Turner; and one son, Kenneth Earl Simmons.
Rolland Clayton. Hammer, 85, of Conway, passed from this life on Thursday, March 21, 2013. He was born on Monday, May 16, 1927 in Beloit, Wis. to the late Henry Victor and Merle Hart Hammer. Mr. Hammer is a member of Calvary Missionary Baptist Church.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Merle Hammer and one sister.
