The National Weather Service has issued a severe thunderstorm watch for parts of Arkansas, including Saline County.
The watch is in effect until midnight.
April Wheeler of Bryant, formerly of Haskell, currently is hospitalized at UAMS in Little Rock for multiple injuries she suffered in a boating accident late Saturday afternoon on Lake Hamilton.
According to a family member, Wheeler, 27, was sitting at the front of the craft "when the boat hit a large wake."
"It caused her to lose balance and flip over off the front of the boat," said Wheeler's sister, Courtney Shoptaw. "The boat ran over her and the propeller hit her."
Wheeler was with her boyfriend, Cody Bullock, and some friends at the time of the incident.
LITTLE ROCK â€” Little Rock police say a young child was shot and faces a life-threatening injury.
The Wednesday afternoon incident happened at a home in the city's southwest where police say three children were home alone.
Police spokeswoman Cassandra Davis says the wounded child is being treated at a hospital.
Investigators say it was unclear whether the child shot himself or if he was shot by another child.
Names were not immediately released and police couldn't immediately confirm the age of the wounded boy.

Stomp D.A.T., an anti-drugs, alcohol and tobacco group sponsored by the Benton Parks and Recreation Department, will present its Back to School Stomp at Tyndall Park on Saturday, from 4 to 7 p.m.
In addition to several booths providing information for students on the risks associated with using drugs, alcohol and tobacco, the family event will feature a plethora of extracurricular activities on which students can focus instead of turning to substance use.
A heat advisory issued earlier this week by the National Weather Service is in effect until 7 p.m. Thursday.
According to the NWS, the combination of hot temperatures and high humidity levels will create heat index values of at least 105 degrees today and Thursday.
These high heat index values will be reached by early afternoon and will continue for several hours each day, according to the NWS.
The NWS recommends people who live in areas under a heat advisory drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of the sun and check up on relatives and neighbors.

WASHINGTONâ€” Wal-Mart has agreed to improve safety conditions for employees who use trash compactors and cleaning chemicals at more than 2,800 stores as part of a settlement agreement with the Labor Department.
The retail giant has also agreed to pay a $190,000 fine to fix hazards discovered during an Occupational Safety and Health Administration inspection at a store in Rochester, N.Y.
LITTLE ROCK â€” Two national conservative groups say they're prepared to back Republican Rep. Tom Cotton's bid to unseat Democratic Sen. Mark Pryor in Arkansas next year.
The Club for Growth's political action committee on Wednesday endorsed Cotton, while the Senate Conservatives Fund said it's open to supporting the first-term congressman's Senate bid. Cotton announced Tuesday he was running against Pryor.
Phyllis Beam Rickard, 64, of Paron died Aug. 4, 2013, at home.
She was born and raised in Saline County. She graduated from Benton High School and attended the University of Arkansas at Little Rock. She was a member of the Benton Seventh-day Adventist Church.
She was employed for several years at Smith-Caldwell Drug Store, Paron Public Schools, Benrock, District Court and Central Arkansas Development Council.
