RUSSELLVILLE â€” For those watching in the Russellville High School gym, the 6A Volleyball State Championship match was one to remember. The Benton Lady Panthers fell 16-14 in the fifth and final set of the 6A state final to the Jonesboro Lady Hurricane on Saturday night to finish as runner-up in the state.
â€śIt was a great game,â€ť Benton Coach Brandy Chumley said. â€śIf you go out with a loss, you want it to be a game like that. Hard in everything that they gave.â€ť

Both teamâ€™s wanted this victory and the fans showed in resilient support of todayâ€™s youngsters and tomorrowâ€™s War Memorial salt slingerâ€™s.Â Benton football would walk away with salt in their wounds once again this season taking a beating from Bryant 34-0.
WASHINGTON (AP) â€” Heart-clogging trans fats have been slowly disappearing from grocery aisles and restaurant menus in the last decade. Now, the Food and Drug Administration is finishing the job.
The FDA planned to announce Thursday it will require the food industry to gradually phase out all trans fats, saying they are a threat to people's health. Commissioner Margaret Hamburg said the move could prevent 20,000 heart attacks and 7,000 deaths each year.
