Panthers take 4th in South

MOUNTAIN HOME – The Benton Panther golf team finished 8th out of 12 teams, shooting a 358, just four strokes from qualifying as a team in the 6A State round two today in the State Tournament at the par-72 Big Creek Golf and Country Club in Mountain Home on Monday. Benton finished fourth in the South.
“This is some tough competition,” Benton Coach David Torres said. “It’s a wide-open, beautiful course. It’s well taken care of and the greens are well-groomed. It’s just the toughness of it; tough pin placement. This week, your putter was everything. Each green had two or three tiers.”

NOTICE: Water main broken by contractor, Congo/Shenandoah Road area

FROM BENTON UTILITIES:
Crews have responded to the area of Congo/Shenandoah Road for a water main and service busted by a contractor. Customers in this area will see reduced water pressure for approximately two hours if things go well.

NOTICE: Water main breakage at Hicks and Alcoa Road in Benton

MESSAGE FROM BENTON UTILITIES:
Crews have just arrived on scene of a busted water main at the intersection of Hicks/Alcoa. Our crews have just called in an emergency locate for other facilities in the area to be marked. They are headed to get the necessary supplies and equipment to make the repair and as soon as all underground lines are marked, they will proceed with digging it up and making the necessary repairs. Folks in this area will probably experience anywhere from very low to no water pressure for the next 4 to 8 hours.
