Arkansas compromise Medicaid expansion stays alive

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (AP) â€” Arkansas' first-in-the-nation plan that uses Medicaid funds to buy private insurance for the poor survived an effort to defund it Tuesday, as lawmakers gave final approval to continue a program that has extended health coverage to nearly 94,000 people.
Florence Brenda â€śNanaâ€ť Turner, 75, of Benton passed away Sunday, March 2, 2014.Â
She was born May 10, 1938, in Stockton-On-Tees, England.Â Mrs. Turner was a retired nurse.Â
She was preceded in death by her parents, Lance and Frances Scott; and her husband, Ronnie Turner.
She is survived by her daughter, Tracey Carey and husband Billy; a grandson, Shaun Carey; a sister, Hazel McGlade; and numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
Mary Louise Huett Jenkins, 77, passed away on March 1, 2014, at Saline Memorial Hospice House in Bryant.
She was born July 1, 1936m in Little Rock, to the late Leo Huett and Annie Lucille Ashcraft.
Mary was preceded in death by her husband, Billy Jack Kelly; her parents; and a sister, Betty Meeks.
