Bryant council to meet tonight for budget workshop

Bryant City Council will meet at 6:30 tonight to discuss the city's 2015 budget.

Bryant Mayor Jill Dabbs scheduled the meeting.

The council previously discussed a proposed 2015 budget in November, but Joy Black, financial director, has not received any feedback from the council about the proposal, according to Dabbs.

Trial date set for mother, grandmother in infant death case

A mother and a grandmother charged in connection with a child’s death have entered not guilty pleas in Saline County Circuit Court.

Circuit Judge Gary Arnold set Feb. 18 and 19 as trial dates for Rosie Crone, 22, and Rosie Hobby, 59, both of Alexander.

Crone, who is the child’s mother, has been charged with maintaining a drug premises, manslaughter and possession of drug paraphernalia.
