Shirley Ann Mitchell

Shirley Ann Mitchell, 79, of Benton, passed away Wednesday, Dec. 24, 2014.  She was born Jan. 30, 1935 in Benton. 
Mrs. Mitchell was preceded in death by her parents, James and Faye Derrick; sister, Billie Jean Wise; daughter, Shelia Ann; and a great-granddaughter, Melanie.
She is survived by her husband of 64 years, Tillman Mitchell; daughter, Debbie Schembra; two sons, Gary and Royce Mitchell; brother, James Derrick; three grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be noon to 1 p.m. Monday, Dec. 29 at Ashby Funeral Home with services beginning at 1 p.m.

William Frederick “Rick” Helmich, Jr.

William Frederick “Rick” Helmich, 61, of Avilla, went to be home with the Lord on Dec. 23, 2014. 

He was born on June 4, 1953 in Little Rock, Arkansas to the late William Frederick and Laura Lee Mackey Helmich of Avilla, Arkansas. Rick spent his childhood on the family dairy farm and graduated from Bryant High School. He attended Arkansas Tech University and graduated with a degree in geology (1975). He continued his education and earned his Master’s (geology and geophysics) at University of Missouri.

Robert “Bob” Bowler

Robert "Bob" Bowler, 61, of Haskell, passed away Monday, Dec. 15, 2014.  He was born March 17, 1953 in Wichita Falls, Texas to the late Charles Anthony Bowler and Opal Elaine Tilley. 
Bob worked in electronics and served in the U.S. Army and then the U.S. Navy.  He was well known in the Haskell Community for being the voice of the Future Cardinals Football teams and the Harmony Grove Cardinals High School Football team. Also, he was the weather spotter for Haskell.
