BRYANT — With a win Thursday the Hornets clinched their third 7A Central title in three years, as well as a No. 1 seed in the 7A State Tournament next week in Fort Smith.
Bryant split a doubleheader with Little Rock Catholic Thursday, winning the first game 3-2 with a comeback rally and walk-off hit in the bottom of the last inning.
Tied 2-2 with two outs, senior Lucas Castleberry brought in senior Evan Jobe from second base to win the game.
BENTON — The Benton Lady Panthers defeated Lake Hamilton 3-2 Thursday night thanks in part to a complete game by junior Lauren White.
After cruising in the first two innings, only allowing one walk with two strikeouts, White gave up two runs in the third inning that tied the game at 2-2. With two outs, Lake Hamilton reached on a walk and a single and scored on a two-run double.
BENTON — The Benton Lady Panthers picked up another conference win Wednesday, defeating El Dorado 8-1 at home.
However, coach Eric Ryan said as far as their standing in the conference is concerned, everything is still up in the air.
“We are just trying to get through and get ready for state,” Ryan said. “We want to try to play the best ball we can and whatever happens, happens.
“But we just have to keep going, improving and working hard.”
