'Take Back' event nets 3.5 tons of medication

In the past 10 years, law enforcement agencies in Saline County have collected more than three and a half tons of prescription medication because of the Operation Medicine Cabinet X drug take-back events.

Benton Police Department, along with the Alexander Police Department and the Haskell Police Department, hosted a drug take-back event on Sept. 27 in conjunction with the 9th National Drug Take Back Day.

Dog Attack Verdict: Guilty; Mom, daughter in HSV case receive sentence

A mother and daughter, Brande Coy and Emily Coy, charged in connection with the fatal dog attack of a Hot Springs Village woman were found guilty of misdemeanors Wednesday evening at the close of a three-day trial in Saline County Circuit Court.
