Funeral services for Ruby Elizabeth Nielsen, 87, of Jacksonville, Texas, are scheduled for 10 a.m., Monday, Sept.12, at East Side Baptist Church in Jacksonville, Texas, with the Rev. Calvin Gould officiating. Burial will be held at Delamar Cemetery in Manning, Ark., on Tuesday, Sept. 13, at 1 p.m.
Mrs. Nielsen passed away Friday, Sept. 9, in Jacksonville, Texas. She was born July 14, 1924 in Manchester, Ark.
Mrs. Nielsen held a doctorate degree and she was a homemaker.
Regina Denise Rider-Mize, 44, of Benton passed away on Aug. 31.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Carolyn Rider.
Regina is survived by her daughter, Haylie Rider; a granddaughter, Aadison; her father, Richard Rider; a brother, Curtis Rider; a sister, Lawanna Rider; two nephews, Sam Rider and Tyler Rider; one niece, Hannah Rider; and a host of family and friends that will love and miss her dearly.
A memorial service for Regina was held on Sept. 8 at New Life Baptist Church. In lieu of flowers donations for the memorial service may be made at Dial & Dudley Funeral Home.
The Bryant Lady Hornetsâ€™ volleyball team defeated the Cabot Lady Panthers 3-0 in 7A Central conference action. The Lady Hornets took the first game easily 25-9, but the Lady Panthers gave the team a tougher match in games two (27-25) and three (25-22).
â€śTonightâ€™s win was definitely the pick-me-up the girls needed after Tuesday,â€ť Bryant coach Beth Solomon said. â€śThis puts us back on the positive side as far as our record in conference.â€ť

Roger D. Sims, 67 of Alexander passed away on September 5. He was born on May 14, 1944 to Robert and Verna Sims. Roger enjoyed working on old cars and entertaining his grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Verna Sims.
Roger is survived by his wife, Wanda Sims; one son, Ty Sims; two step-sons; William David Beard and wife,Yolanda and Ronald Nolan Beard and wife, Holly; granddaughters; Jessica Williams, Melanie Sims, Kimberly Beard, Brittany Montgomery; one grandson, Ronnie Beard JR; one sister, Sue Galahar and one brother, Jack Sims.
Just two seasons into their varsity program, the Harmony Grove Cardinals are once again staring at a 1-0 record after winning their season opener last week.
The Cardinals beat the Poyen Indians in their first ever game last season by a score of 35-14. On opening night, the Cardinals repeated history after they beat the Indians for the second year in-a-row, this time by a score of 32-23.
The Cardinals totaled over 400 yards of offense on Friday but turned the ball over twice in the late quarters.
After losing to the Harrison Golden Goblins 28-10 this past Friday, Sheridan Yellowjacketsâ€™ coach Louis Campbell said there were positives despite his team giving up six turnovers in the opening game of the season. The Yellowjackets take on the Arkadelphia Badgers at Yellowjackets Stadium Friday.
The Arkansas Travelers open the 2011 Texas League playoffs against the Northwest Arkansas Naturals at Dickey-Stephens Park in North Little Rock night, and the Travsâ€™ road to get there has been an interesting one. Itâ€™s the first time the Travs have been to the TL playoffs since they won the championship in 2008.
The Travelers went 36-31 to win the TL North Division first half by one game over the Naturals to qualify for the playoffs and went 32-38 in the second half. The Naturals won the second half North with a 38-32 record.
Buddy A. Dewberry, 72, of Haskell died Saturday, Sept. 3.
He was born April 3, 1939, in Arkansas County. He was a retired machinist and was a member of the Church of God.
He was preceded in death by his parents, William C. and Velma Morris Dewberry; and a brother, Jimmy Dewberry.
