The "Taste of Home Cooking School" presented by Homemaker Schools is returning to Benton.
The event is scheduled Thursday, Oct. 2, at the Benton Event Center on Interstate 30.
Thousands of dollars in prizes will be awarded at the event and every participating ticket-holder will receive a filled goodie bag.
Chef Jamie Dunn will be leading the event that will include demonstrations of recipes, products and homemaking ideas.
Local vendors will be present with samples to taste and numerous ideas and helpful information for area cooks.
A few years ago, Jamie Dunn was working as a home economics teacher in Oklahoma when she chose a different route for her life.
That path took her to the Taste of Home Cooking Schools and becoming one of several chefs who host schools throughout the nation.
She will be in Benton on Thursday, Oct. 2, to lead such an event at the Benton Event Center.
Dunn says she feels at home in this role.
With Week 2 in the books, Saline County area teams are starting to get a feel for what they have on both sides of the ball. Benton and Bryant look to have strong forces each week, while Harmony Grove and Bauxite are still working out kinks. Glen Rose, on the other hand, has a lot to work on having started the season 0-2, both losses being blowouts.
