I-40 work will mean detour in St. Francis County

August 5, 2014

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (AP) — Arkansas Highway and Transportation Department officials say traffic on Interstate 40 in St. Francis County will be detoured while a bridge is removed.

The AHTD says crews will begin removing a bridge on Highway 38 this week.

Traffic will be diverted across the Highway 38 ramps from 11 p.m. until 5 a.m. starting on Tuesday. Traffic will cross Highway 38 and be placed back on I-40 using the existing entrance ramp.

This diversion of traffic will allow crews to begin the removal of the existing bridge structure on Highway 38.
