ARKADELPHIA – Construction of new student housing is under way on the Henderson State University campus and the renovation of Henderson’s Garrison Student Center is nearing completion.
“Our plans to construct new housing are a direct result of conversation with students and prospective students about their needs and desires,” said Dr. Lewis Shepherd, vice president for student and external affairs. “Students have been included in the process of determining what type of facility to build, as well as contributing to the decisions about where new residential options should be located.”
The front entrance to Saline Memorial Hospital was closed Friday morning and will remain blocked while a renovation of the area is completed.
"This project is 100 percent funded by the Saline Memorial Health Foundation." says Matt Brumley, executive director of the foundation. "We are so grateful to those who have contributed to the foundation and we are extremely excited to begin this project.
"I cannot communicate how grateful we are for our supporters, our co-workers, our hospital and foundation board of directors, and our community for making this happen.
