William â€śSamâ€ť Brewer, 70, of Benton passed away at his home Aug. 20, 2014.
He was born Aug. 9, 1944, in Plainview to the late William and Icel Madden Brewer.
After graduation, Sam served in the Army, holding the rank of first lieutenant. After his military service, he worked for many years for Carter Oil Co. and then several years for John Olner Builders.Â He retired three years ago.
He loved his church family very much and cherished many good times with special friends Carlos and Margie Irizarry.
Dorothy Kindy Brown, 87, of Fort Smith passed away Tuesday, Aug. 19, 2014.
She was born Aug. 4, 1927, in Bauxite to the late Thomas and Daisy Chrestman.
She was a member of First United Methodist Church in Fort Smith. She worked with the Boys' Shelter in Gainesville, Texas, and Superior Federal Bank in Little Rock.
She was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She loved being outdoors, loved to draw and was a wonderful artist. She was married to Van Brown, who was the oldest living Razorback football player until his death in March of 2010.
BENTON â€“ After a historic year which saw the 23-4 Benton Lady Panthers volleyball team fall in five games in the 6A State Championship game against Jonesboro, Benton returns eight seniors to an experienced team which swept every 6A South Conference match.
