Council votes to destroy papers with residents' personal information

The Bryant City Council voted Tuesday in its monthly meeting for the water company asked to "shred upon receipt" documents that were sent out in this month's water bill which ask for residents to provide personal information.
Bryant residents received forms labeled "customer information update form" which solicit the driver's license, social security and phone numbers of every occupant of their home who is over the age of 18.
Mayor Jill Dabbs released a statement regarding the issue Wednesday.

A vehicle crash in Bryant early Wednesday cost a Benton teenager her life, and four more teens remain in area hospitals with injuries, authorities said.
Sgt. Todd Crowson of the Bryant Police Department said at 1 a.m. Wednesday five teenagers inside a passenger vehicle were driving on Northlake Road. Near the Springhill intersection, the vehicle topped the hill, lost control, veered off into a wooded area and crashed into a tree.
