Union official: TSA agent killed in LAX shooting

LOS ANGELES (AP) — A gunman armed with a semi-automatic rifle opened fire at the Los Angeles International Airport, killing a Transportation Security Administration employee and wounding two other people.

Tim Kauffman, a spokesman for the American Federation of Government Employees in Washington, confirmed Friday that a TSA officer was killed.

He says the union's information comes from their local officials in Los Angeles.

The attack frightened passengers and disrupted flights nationwide.

Halloween is a special time of year for both you and your children. The children get to enjoy dressing up and eating lots of candy and you are left with a lifetime of great memories about the fun they had. We at the Benton Police Department want to help you ensure that they are safe while out there trick-or-treating so we have made a short list of things to consider before going out on Halloween night.

Bryant Police Chief begins unpaid leave

Bryant Mayor Jill Dabbs announced during a City Council meeting Thursday night that Bryant Police Chief Mark Kizer will be placed on unpaid administrative leave for five days beginning Monday, Oct. 28.
The disciplinary action results from an incident that occurred last summer when Kizer and School Resource Officer Lee Ledbetter used the city's credit card to pay for a meal at an upscale strip club and steakhouse while in Orlando, Fla., for SRO training.
