LITTLE ROCK — Two national conservative groups say they're prepared to back Republican Rep. Tom Cotton's bid to unseat Democratic Sen. Mark Pryor in Arkansas next year.
The Club for Growth's political action committee on Wednesday endorsed Cotton, while the Senate Conservatives Fund said it's open to supporting the first-term congressman's Senate bid. Cotton announced Tuesday he was running against Pryor.
The time for the Bryant Street Operations/Project Management regular monthly meeting was incorrectly reported in Monday's issue of The Saline Courier.
The committee met at 10 a.m. on Tuesday at City Hall.
A heat advisory issued earlier today by the National Weather Service is in effect until 7 p.m. Thursday.
According to the NWS, the combination of hot temperatures and high humidity levels will create heat index values of at least 105 degrees Wednesday and Thursday.
These high heat index values will be reached by early afternoon and will continue for several hours each day, according to the NWS.
The NWS recommends people who live in areas under a heat advisory drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of the sun and check up on relatives and neighbors.
