A town hall meeting in Bauxite on Monday night was the focus of discussion regarding the city’s sewer system. Specifically, Mayor Johnny McMahan discussed ways to maintain sewer grinder pumps that each resident has at their home. A cleaned-up example of a sewer grinder pump that recently failed was used as a visual aid to illustrate the issue. McMahan has proposed a half-cent increase to the city’s sales tax to fund maintenance, repairs and operations of the sewer system in Bauxite. A full story of the town hall will be in the Nov. 6 edition of The Saline Courier.
