LITTLE ROCK â€” Arkansas House Speaker Davy Carter challenged opponents of the state's compromise Medicaid expansion Tuesday to offer an alternative that could break a legislative stalemate threatening the future of a program that provides subsidized coverage to more than 93,000 people.
Saline County was placed under a burn ban Tuesday morning.
Former Saline County Sheriff Bruce Pennington announced Friday afternoon that he will be seeking his fourth term in office. Pennington retired from the same seat in 2013.
Pennington plans to enter the May primary as a candidate for the Republican party.
