A Benton police officer who allegedly disregarded a stop sign was struck by another vehicle Sept. 2 at the intersection of Northshore Drive and Alcoa Road.
The officer, John Spatdaro, who was driving a Benton police vehicle at the time of the accident, is currently not placed on administrative leave. The department is reviewing the incident, said Lt. Kevin Russell, Benton Police Department spokesperson.
The Saline County Sheriff's Office investigated the accident.

â€¢Darrol Barnes, 57, of Benton was arrested on Edison Avenue for being named on two active warrants.
â€¢A woman on Oakwood Drive reported several items were stolen from her rental residence.
â€¢Troy Benesch, 29, of Benton was arrested on Hicks Road and charged with assault. He was also named on an active warrant.
â€¢Wydall Bennings, 35, of Benton was arrested at Dollar General on Military Road and charged with public intoxication.
â€¢A man on West Sevier Street reported his lawn ornament was stolen.
Benton police officers are investigating another incident involving a person shooting at Benton High School.
Saturday, the principal of Benton Junior High, Curt Barger reported an individual shot the digital billboard and shot through a glass door of the cafeteria, according to the Benton Police Department report.
The estimated damage is approximately $2,400.
A similar incident was reported earlier this month, but officers are unsure if the incidents are related, said Lt. Kevin Russell, Benton Police Department spokesperson.
