BREAKING NEWS: Bank robbery suspect apprehended

The suspect involved in the Summit Bank robbery that occurred earlier today has been apprehended. The suspect was arrested by authorities in Forrest City. Benton Police Department detectives are currently on scene and the investigation is ongoing.

GM recalls 8M more vehicles for ignition switch

DETROIT — The ignition switch recalls now engulfing General Motors and Chrysler are raising new questions about the safety of the parts across the American auto industry.

GM's safety crisis deepened dramatically Monday when the automaker added 8.2 million vehicles in North America to its ballooning list of cars recalled over faulty ignition switches. GM has now issued five recalls for 17.1 million cars with defective switches, spanning every model year since 1997.

Terry's Waste now part of Republic operations

On Monday DC Trash/Terry's Waste Management ceased its operations and Republic Services began providing service to its Saline County customers.

Republic purchased DC Trash/Terry's Waste Management and announced the merger in a letter dated June 16.

The letter to customers signed by DC Trash/Terry's Waste owner Dwight Dicus and Republic Services General Manager Dan Christensen states: "Having served the community for eight years, our desire is to sell our Saline County routes to someone that we feel will continue our tradition of excellent service.
